Mastering Consistent Meditation

Thank you to all of you who did the Fall Energy Reset with me. It seemed like everyone there was so smiley and joyful! Leading it was my favorite part of those five days.

It’s crazy how fast 20 minutes flies by!

If you missed it, each day had a theme. They were:

Tune into your energy: You learn about your energy by paying attention to it.

  1. Energy wants to move.
  2. Energy needs space to move.
  3. Energy runs in patterns and habits.
  4. It takes consistency to repattern your energy.

All five of the themes are true and important, but today I want to mention #1 and #5: tuning into yourself and consistency.

A couple of weeks ago, I wrote to you about how the two most critical things I do for my mental and physical health, happiness, relationships and productivity are daily meditation and daily energy work.

They go hand in hand and if I’m not tuned in, or if my mind is disconnected from my body, the results I seek don’t come as easily.

The foundation of my success is daily meditation.

I know you’ve heard all about the benefits of meditation, because they’re true.

I also know that it usually takes several meditation starts and stops before someone finally gets a consistent practice going.

It took me two years. (That doesn’t mean it will take you that long though.)

To get from inconsistent meditator to consistency, I had to wrestle with one truth: What is going on with me that makes me so uncomfortable to sit quietly?

In other words, why is it that just me alone, being quiet with myself, is so painful that I have to distract myself (stop meditating) to get out of the discomfort?

When I worked my way through that, which I’m not going to say was easy, I found consistent meditation.

I had to stop giving up on myself.

Before I studied meditation in India in 2018, I did a basic type of “focus on the breath” meditation. In India, I was trained in a specific type of meditation that I’ve done every day since.

I also teach others how to do this meditation, which is steeped in tradition and has a few basic steps at the beginning to help stabilize energy and bring you to quiet.

If you’ve been meaning to learn to meditate, or try a new way, or finally get consistent, I’d love to help you.

Even if it takes two years…

Which I don’t think it will, because I didn’t have any guidance and now you do in me!
