In many ways, being here is exactly like what we’ve all experienced when we see people we haven’t seen in years. It’s breathtaking and a little awkward… I need to dust off my social skills.
I’ve only been here a few hours and I’ve already “met” so many people who I only know from Zoom. It’s a little trippy to go from seeing someone from 2D to 3D. People often move their gaze from my toes to my head, Blaine, I had no idea you’re so tall!
I’m also a little star struck. In the energy world, the who’s who of researchers, authors and healers are all here, several having traveled to the United States just for this. Including Donna Eden, the matriarch of the tradition I study and practice.
To make things even more exciting, I’m taking the stage 3 times over the 4-day conference. I’m leading two morning movement sessions and teaching an Energy Medicine Yoga breakout session with Lauren Walker (Founder and Creator of Energy Medicine Yoga).
Needless to say, I’m a bit nervous.
If you’re wondering what energy medicine is, here’s how I define it as succinctly as possible: Energy medicine is a method to bring the energies (life force) in your body into balance. If we’re out of balance then we get disease (physical, mental, emotional) in the body. We’re constantly doing things that bring our body away from homeostasis (balance) and our body is always trying to get back into a state of equilibrium. With energy medicine, we use techniques with our hands, breath and thoughts to return to balance and stay there. Energy medicine utilizes techniques from time-honored traditions such as acupuncture, yoga, kinesiology, chinese medicine and qi gong.
Realigning your energy positively affects your body’s chemistry, regulates your hormones, makes you feel better, and helps you think more clearly.
When your energy is in balance, your body can heal itself.
When our energy is aligned in this way, we’re healthy, joyful, pain-free and ready to enthusiastically tackle whatever life throws our way.
Anyone can do energy medicine. You just need to practice tuning into the pulse of your own vibration and learn some basic techniques.
Then you do the techniques every day. It’s like brushing your teeth – you groom your energy a little each day and repattern it to health.
