What detox isn’t: a short term, restrictive diet type of activity.

What it is: a way that you take care of yourself every day to support your natural detox pathways.

With a little support, your body is great at cleansing itself!

If you’ve taken in more toxins than your body can reasonably deal with, it tries to expel them by any means it can. If you’re struggling to keep up, that’s sign you could be in toxic overload.

If you’re not sure if you could have (or ever have had) toxic overload, here are some common symptoms: constipation or diarrhea, muscle pain, weight gain, fatigue, skin problems, headaches/migraines, mood swings, body or breath odor, sweating and trouble sleeping.

The goal of having a lifestyle where you keep your detox pathways healthy and running like a smooth, powerful machine is that you never reach the point of overload.

It’s worth striving for because, no matter how hard we try or how “clean” we live our life, we still contend with a lot of unavoidable toxins.

And the not-so-fun hard truth is that as we age, our body just isn’t as resilient as it used to be so we need to provide a little extra loving effort to continue to stay healthy and strong.
